A local fishermen have his
large and heavy catch of the day by catching an aircraft
propeller from seabed not far from Pangkor Island. He
decided to bring it ashore and dump it near a beach
which he might be furious that no one interested on his
findings.
The news was spread to
MHG and we advised Army Museum at Port Dickson to
recovered the prop. After a long examination and
research, the aircraft which used this prop was
identified.
A Japanese A6M2 Zero
version produced by Nakajima using Sakae 12 or 10
Radial Engine used this kind of prop and 6 reduction
gears. A similar prop was found intact with Nakajima
A6M2 wreckage recovered from Lake Ogawarako, Northern
Japan in 1998. - info from Katsushi Owaki. |
